Project Description
Scope of Work
➢ Conducting traffic forecast study and Demand/ Market assessment.
➢ Preparation of a Detailed Project Report for Zone B in VOC Port inter-alia covering the following: Formulating various layout options for optimal utilization of the existing facilities and suggesting Phasewise developmental plans.
➢ Rail/ Road connectivity including interconnectivity between Zone A and Zone B of VOC Port.
➢ Land use assessment.
➢ Implementation plan.
➢ The consultant shall prepare a Detailed Project report for optimizing the use of Zone-B at V.O.Chidambaranar Port by introducing various innovative mechanisms appropriately, to ensure redevelopment/ renewal, maximum utilization of land, equitable expansion and development of land, provision of social infrastructure requirement in custom bound area, etc.
➢ The consultant shall examine, and utilize a scenario-based approach, to whether the proposed future establishments and the general development of the area for the next 30 years will be compatible with current /proposed facilities, based on risk, safety, security, environmental, and social considerations.
➢ The Detailed Project report shall be prepared by the latest Guidelines of the Government of India which should cover aspects such as the scope of the detailed project, problems to be addressed, project objective, target beneficiaries, project strength, legal framework, Coastal Regulation Zone arrangements, means of financial and project budget, cost estimates for all components, time frame, risk analysis, financial and economic analysis etc., about the project.

➢ V.O.Chidambaranar Port is a Southeastern Major Port of India that is strategically located in proximity to the International main shipping sea route. The Port consists of two operational areas– Zone A and Zone B.
➢ Zone-B is situated on the Southeastern coast of India adjoining the Gulf of Mannar at latitude 80 48' N and longitude of 780 09' E in Tuticorin town, 12 km away from Zone-A.
