➢ V. O. Chidambaranar Port (VOC Port) presently has 16 berths handling a total traffic of about 36.58 million tons in 2017-18.
➢ Shosam has conducted the Techno-Economic Feasibility Study for developing NCB III as a bulk handling berth. This terminal shall consist of the installation of a Coal Ship Unloader at Piled Berth (NCB III) and the stack yard to be located at Hare Island.
➢ Berth for Handling vessels up to 120,000DWT.
➢ The conveying system from Berth to stack yard to be 4,000 TPH, with two unloaders each having a handling capacity of 2,000 TPH.
➢ The ship-to-shore unloading system shall be carried out by rail mounted two nos. 2,000TPH Unloader to be installed on NCB III.
➢ The stack yard capacity shall be 1,70,000 T.
